Insurance Work
-
An American Umbrella, LLC Sales Manager will conduct an inspection of your property to determine the extent of damage to your roof, siding, gutters, windows and the interior of your facility.
- If processing a claim through your insurance company, we will ask you to call your insurance company to initiate a claim. (Unfortunately, insurance companies do not allow us to do this for you.)
- Once you have an insurance claim number, our Sales Manager will contact the Insurance Adjuster assigned to the claim. On your behalf, we will begin the restoration process.
- Our Sales Manager will try to meet with the Adjuster and point out all of the damage. We encourage you to be present during the inspection. However, if it is inconvenient to take time off work and you prefer not having to climb up on your roof, your attendance is not required. If the adjuster agrees with our assessment, we will notify you immediately. If they disagree or refuse to pay for everything we feel you are entitled to receive, again we will notify you immediately. We will then request that a different Adjuster re-inspect your property. If they still refuse to pay you what we honestly feel you are entitled to, we can have an Arbitrator completely re-inspect your property. Once again, you are kept apprised on a daily basis.
- Once we receive approval from your insurance company, two things happen simultaneously. The Insurance Adjustor will tell your insurance company to write you a check for at least half the total cost of the project. While you are waiting for your check, you and our Sales Manager will pick out building materials and colors.
- Once you have an insurance check, on your behalf, we will begin the restoration process. Also, at that time, our Sales Manager will collect the first check you will have received from the insurance company. In the construction industry, it’s called a “Material Drop Check” because the materials will be dropped at the work site.
- Once the Material Drop Check has been collected, our Production Manager will schedule the work to be done on your property and assign the crews.
- Next, our Sales Manager will order the materials needed to replace the damaged areas.
- When the materials are delivered, our Project & Warranty Manager will do a thorough inspection and ensure all of the materials are the right colors and that everything is correct.
- On the day of construction, our Project & Warranty Manager will be at your facility to meet the crews and get started.
- Once everything is completed, you and our Sales Manager will go over the Inspection Checklist together, point-by-point, to confirm that everything has been completed to your satisfaction.
- After completion of the work on your property, the outstanding balance from the contract is due for the project. Again, if processing an insurance claim, we will invoice your insurance company for the outstanding balance due for the project. When you receive final payment from your insurance company, our Sales Manager will come to your facility to do a final inspection to make sure you are completely satisfied and collect the final check.
We will work hard for you to get you everything you are entitled to receive, and enhance the beauty and value of your investment.

Chances are you have one of the following concerns:
Filing a claim will result in an increase in insurance premiums or lead to cancellation.
· The homeowners insurance cannot be cancelled due to random acts of nature.
· Premium increases are based on the number of claims paid for in the area.
· You cannot be singled out from premium increase.
Insurance companies are not paying for full replacement of roof and siding.
· You are entitled to two (2) inspections.
· Claim Denied? We will call the adjuster back to your home, and on your behalf, to get you a full comprehensive settlement.
· Don’t settle for partial repairs. Get a second opinion.
Contractors only want to repair siding damage and are not being attentive to the roof, gutters, etc.
· In some cases, inexperienced contractors and adjusters are failing to provide accurate damage assessments.
· Do not get short changed! Choose a contractor who is knowledgeable and can offer you a full and through inspection.
The damage to my home is minor and is something I can live with.
· Don’t jeopardize the value of your home. When it comes time to sell, you may be forced to pay out of pocket.
· Roof damage is sometimes not easily identified. Don’t risk the potential for leaks.
